Founded in 1977, LEAP’s mission is to bring educational arts programs to promote access and equity for NYC students underserved in the arts. We inspire diverse school communities to love learning and help them build their creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills. LEAP uses experiences in the visual arts, theater, dance, music, and new media arts to empower students to become change agents through programs that incorporate social justice themes, engage youth in advocacy and activism, and support their development as creative leaders and young artivists.

Rosie’s Theater Kids (RTKids) is an arts education organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children through the arts. We serve students from NYC Public Schools, positively changing the trajectory of their lives by providing comprehensive classes in music, dance, and drama; thoughtful mentoring; and structured academic guidance. At Rosie’s Theater Kids (RTKids) ‘rehearsing for life’ is more than our motto, it is our guiding principle. We rehearse to learn, to grow, and to reach our potential. We believe in the value of the process.

Established in 1997, Strike Anywhere Performance Ensemble (SA) is an interdisciplinary collective of improvising jazz musicians, dancers and actors. Working at the crossroads of activism, arts and social justice, SA creates provocative performances and innovative education programs that promote empathy, creativity and civic discourse. SA draws on the methodology of Viola Spolin to hone improv skills and build ensemble and uses structures from jazz to guide its improvisations. SA engages with communities, employing collective creation processes that are egalitarian and inclusive. SA is the preeminent performance group in the US practicing Soundpainting, the universal sign-language for live-composition with improvising performers. SA has performed and taught in over 200 venues in 16 states and 8 countries.
