We have been NYC DOE arts education vendors since 1988. Our evidence-based "Partnerships in Literacy through Dance & Creativity Program" includes:

  • 16 dance lessons with a highly qualified MDD Teaching Artist
  • Up to 5 team meetings with classroom teachers and educational paraprofessionals
  • A classroom teacher-facilitated dance journal writing program
  • An end-of-program sharing/performance for parents and the school community.

Take Two Film Academy

 

ABOUT

Take Two Film Academy offers direct to students residencies and after-school programs in filmmaking and media literacy to K-12 classrooms across the 5 boroughs, as well as Professional Development. By integrating filmmaking and media literacy into core curriculum teachers get a fun way to deliver a unit of study, all the while teaching how to responsibly create and consume media. Residencies last anywhere from 7-15 class, and we can work within a set budget.

Education in Dance & The Related Arts

 

ABOUT

Education In Dance is a unique movement/dance/music/arts program for students, beginning at the preschool level, designed to nurture the creative process for a lifetime. Our integrated arts enrichment program provides a meaningful introduction and foundation in all the arts for lifetime enhancement. Our program stimulates creativity and intellectual growth while contributing to emotional and physical well-being.

Residencies combine basic dance skills with creative movement, theater games, an exploration of quality music from all lands, visual art forms and tumbling as it relates to dance. Our syllabus highlights shapes, levels, colors, locomotor methods as well as sensory-awareness and self-esteem techniques to nurture the artist in each child.

Each season, the wide-ranging education and social impact programs of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute (WMI) connect hundreds of thousands of young people, families, educators, students, aspiring artists, administrators, and New Yorkers of all ages. These creative experiences nurture the finest musical talent at all levels, and harness the power of the arts to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Last year, WMI reached more than 800,000 people in New York City, across the country, and around the globe. Our school programs served more than 60,000 New York City students.

Notes in Motion

 

ABOUT

Notes in Motion, founded in 2000, is a non-profit Arts Vendor of the NYC DOE serving Pre K - 12th graders in all five boroughs. We offer programs in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, Latin, African dance, and more that are rooted by the Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts. Our programs combine technique-based and creative instruction. Students are physically active improvising, creating choreography, and working collaboratively with peers throughout class.

Dancewave, Inc.

 

ABOUT

Dancewave is a socially conscious nonprofit dance education organization that has been a force in Brooklyn for over 25 years. Dancewave provides access to supportive and empowering dance experiences that center social, emotional and cognitive development through movement. Developing programs to meet community needs, we use dance as a vehicle for transformation, expression, active citizenship, and self-reflection.

Our programming reaches 5,000 youth and adults annually in over 50 schools, community and senior centers in all five boroughs.
